The female breast should be examined at least once a year, from the age of twenty and up. This includes the visual diagnosis and careful palpation.

As part of the breast exam, we offer an ultrasound for the early detection of benign and malignant breast diseases. Every ninths woman suffers from breast cancer today, and the number is rising. Since we do not know the exact cause of this, the importance of the annual exam is very high.

An ultrasound examination of the breast is not painful and dosen’t contain any harmful x-rays. The breast is examined with a highly specialized transducer. The ultrasound can detect changes early on before they can physically be felt. This ultrasound examination is recommended to women from thirty years on. This exam is not covered by most insurances.
