Cancer Screening

Cancer screening of the cervix with a magnified visual inspection to detect the smallest irregularities is standard, as is a thourough and painless palpation of the pelvis. An ultrasound of the bladder, uterus and ovaries is a healthcare service that we offer. With this ultrasound the structure and condition of the endometrium can be assessed. Mucosal polyps can be detected early, before it leads to irregular bleeding.

The fallopian tubes and ovaries are located on both sides of the uterus, this area is referred to as the adnexa. Augmentations in this area caused by tumors or cysts can be felt when they reach a specific size. A collection of “water” in the abdomen behind the uterus may be an early indicator of a cell change on the ovary.

Timely detection of changes in these sexual organs is part of a comprehensive cancer screening. By means of using an ultrasound we can detect changes of the sexual organs.

The exam of the breast for cancer prevention starts normally from the age of thirty. This is the standard, but we recommend having a breast exam at any age.
